Summary This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities You will supervise High Voltage Electrician WG-2810-10, Electrician Leader WL-2805-10, Electrician WG-2805-10, Electrical Worker WG-2802-08, Maintenance Work (WG-4749-07 and Mobile Equipment Servicer WG-5806-05 You will complete and provide to higher level management, all required documentation related to the personnel assigned to the electrical shops as required by directives and regulations. You will plan, approve equipment, facilities, and materials and assigns work to subordinate workers based off priority and complexity on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You will be responsible for ensuring testing of all electrical devices requiring test and/or certification will compile and maintain all test reports. You will approve and coordinate all scheduled power outages, will ensure proper notifications have been completed prior to executing outage requests. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: You will have knowledge of voltages up to 69K kV, and supervision of electricians. Other items of consideration will be Distribution system at 12470kV , sub-station, switching orders, and runway lighting and supporting infrastructure. Plan tasks and determines appropriate steps and actions necessary to complete the project or job. Adheres to the National Electrical Code, NFPA, and IEEE and keeps abreast of changes to the Code.
