Safety Specialist

job summary:

A Safety Specialist/Safety Coordinator is needed for a leading manufacturing organization an hour northwest of the Phoenix, AZ area. The Safety Specialist/Coordinator is responsible to support the implementation of Construction Safety Management Systems and conduct formal safety audit of activities related to construction and equipment installation.

Qualified candidates must have 10+ years of related safety experience within an industrial construction or manufacturing setting. Candidate must have at least an OSHA 500. This is a long-term contract slated to last at least a year.

salary: $36 - 40 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: High School

responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of Construction Safety Management System (CSMS)

  • Provide safety leadership for maintenance, construction, & equipment installation projects

  • Ensure safety requirements are clear to contractors.

  • Conduct formal safety audit of activities related to construction and equipment installation

  • Review contractor JSA's to confirm completeness and accuracy of work being performed

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week

  • working weekends

  • Experience level: Experienced
