We are seeking two Sales Managers-Education to manage a team of Account Executives and Account Technology Strategists.

One of the Sales Managers will cover our Mountain territory coving the following states:

  • Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico

The other Sales Manager will cover our South Central territory covering the following states:

  • Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana


  • Developing a high-performing sales team to expand strategic education customer relationships to drive larger impact and targeted business growth.

  • Coaching team to develop jointly agreed customer Digital Transformation multi-year business strategy, delivering agreed outcomes while leading the broader virtual internal and external teams across customers and partners.

  • Disrupting the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that demonstrate the case for change as well as Microsoft's unique value proposition in the education industry.

  • Articulating the Education Transformation Framework strategic vision, followed by the customer maturity framework to enable customer digital transformation - based on current state and customer stated objectives.

  • Presenting and demonstrating key end-user solutions/capabilities and technical architectures aligned to a customer maturity framework/path in Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365 and Modern Classroom deployment tools such as Identity with Azure Active Directory Premium (AAD P1), Intune (MDM and MAM) and Teams with School Data Sync (SDS) set-up. And looking holistically end to end to the resources ready for deployment & adoption (usage) assistance for smooth customer experience.

  • Planning and overseeing the selling education services and solutions that:

  • Drive student and educator usage by focusing on strategic workloads in Microsoft 365 (Forms, Teams, OneNote)

  • Grow usage of integrated learning solutions on the Microsoft platform (Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Teams, Dynamics 365)

  • Grow and protect Windows 10 device share by creating demand for experiences specific to Windows

  • Drive Azure as the cloud for education, especially in academic research by establishing strategic design wins across top research institutions

  • Grow awareness/usage of the Microsoft Cloud to close talent gap of students, researchers and faculty/instructors on Azure/Cloud

  • Drive active usage of Minecraft: Education Edition

  • Planning and overseeing the process of structuring deals and defining the negotiation strategies for customer accounts.

  • Establishing Microsoft as a leader in education transformation and future ready skills championing Microsoft’s mission to empower every student by supporting education future-ready skills focus across the spectrum of our audience engagements, from high level conversations on skills/employability with leaders, to empowering students to graduate with industry recognized skills.

  • Remaining focused on customer facing time by running a healthy and predictable business that delivers on a jointly agreed customer Digital Transformation strategy maintaining rigorous sales process compliance.

  • Continuously nurturing and expanding your sales, industry, technology and competitive knowledge and capabilities.

  • Providing customer and partner feedback to Education Leadership to develop key insights for continuous improvement across industry solutions and digital transformation offerings.


Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or technology related field AND 8+ years of experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing and/or driving business growth or customer digital transformation, sales management, or leadership OR Master's Degree in Business Administration Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing and/or driving business growth or customer digital transformation, sales management, or leadership OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years people leadership (direct people management preferred)

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in the education industry

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $136,200 and $198,000.

At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role
