Banner Health is currently seeking an IT Systems Analyst responsible for supporting the Banner University Health Plans Encounters team. This position will support the technical aspects of our Medicare and Medicaid encounter submissions. This position will interface between the Finance team, Encounter team, and product vendor to develop and improve encounter related tasks as well as analyze data for quality improvement purposes.

The typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8a-5p with limited schedule flexibility. The primary location for this role will be at Banner Elvira Corporate office with remote capabilities. An ideal candidate would possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of related experience, past experience/interest with Healthcare system applications and generation of data files, time management skills, multitasking abilities, strong communications skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and participates in formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company’s requirements. Works as part of a team who provides knowledge, guidance, research and fact finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of information systems. Incumbent participates in establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides information for staff and various committees guiding the design, implementation and maintenance of application and system specifications and processes. Participates in task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize information technology service quality, effectiveness and efficiency.

  2. Participates as part of a team to assemble request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP), return on investment (ROI) calculations, capital or operating budgets data or other specifications and documents.

  3. Creates application and end user documentation following applicable department, company and industry standards and policies.

  4. Participates in the preparation of fully integrated testing scenarios. Analyzes information systems across multiple levels and states and their relationships. Provides information to be taken into account as part of the comprehensive testing plans.

  5. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves minor project, system or application errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality.

  6. Participates in the designs of end user training and curriculum for applications and systems. Participates in the initial rollout and ongoing training of the user community.

  7. This position has responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has minor level decision-making authority for projects and applications and works at peer level. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess an associate's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience.

Requires intermediate to advanced skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard business applications. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

General knowledge of information technology and healthcare is desirable.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
