Aerotek Distribution Designer in Tucson, Arizona
DISTRIBUTION DESIGNERS NEEDED!!!
o Assigned projects must be completed within prescribed timelines in accordance with TEP and NESC code standards.
o Projects types included but not limited to distribution design of new business, subdivisions, system reinforcement, system integrity and emergency priority designs.
o Experience and proficiency in the operation of the following Microsoft Office tools is required: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
o Experience operating the following computer tools is preferred and/or the ability to learn is required: GE SmallWorld GIS, Maximo, Bentley Utilities Designer, Blue Beam. (list is not all inclusive)
o Must complete all training
o Must complete testing and/or evaluation for step progressions.
o Requires field visits for facility evaluations, design application, etc.
o Must have a valid driver license. Operation of and transportation of a Tucson Electric Power vehicle will be required.
o Required to work overtime as necessary and directed by the Tucson Electric Power.
o Able to utilize and operate assorted hand tools as required to perform job duties.
o Will adhere to all safety standards set forth by Tucson Electric Power and uses all provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
o Will adhere to required dress code standards.
Shall perform with a minimum of supervision, a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, the following:
a) Prepare manual or computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature.
b) Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, industry and client standards covering the assigned work.
c) Preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
d) Perform distribution system design calculations.
e) Coordinate design deliverables to meet project schedules.
f) Acquire field data necessary to prepare the appropriate design

System reinforcement including feeder hardening and capacity upgrades
Public improvement design - being able to break down roadway plans
