Advanced Technologies

The Advanced Technologies division helps to develop a robust pipeline of technology discriminators and game-changing systems, including hypersonics, counter-hypersonics, directed energy, undersea sensor and effectors, and the next generation radars and sensors .

Job Description:

The Advanced Technology (AT) Chief of Staff (CoS) is a direct report to the Advanced Effector Lead and dotted line to the AT Vice President and Advanced Sensor Lead as a member of the AT leadership team.

AT is chartered with expanding RMD core markets, driving adjacent market growth, and expanding customer laboratory relationships and cross-RTX collaboration. In support of these goals, the CoS partners with the AT leadership team and functional partners to develop and implement the strategy throughout the Mission Area in both short term business operations and long range planning.

Position duties and qualifications include:

  • Long range planning

  • Aid in development of the Long Range Plan

  • Align investment planning with the Long Range Plan including IRAD, Capital, and NBI

  • Develop Mission Area goals

  • Partner with the Strategy organization to develop mission segment strategies in alignment with AT goals

  • Establish the AT strategy messaging for both internal and external customers

  • Execute special projects for the AT VP

  • RTX cross collaboration initiatives

  • RMD level functional activities

  • International collaboration

  • Proposal management and development

  • Manage the business operations of the AT mission area

  • Maintain situational awareness on all Mission Area priority issues and advise the LT accordingly when action is needed from higher levels

  • Partner with the AT LT on managing all NBI and capital requests for the mission area

  • Responsible for all weekly reporting and monthly operating review packages

  • Deliver on quick turn ad hoc requests from the AT Vice President and Senior staff including CEO and Board of Directors briefings

  • Generate AT communications, flow down, and all hands material

  • Act as a direct channel for information and tasking between the Advanced Sensor and Advanced Effector organizations

  • Develop and maintain AT directives, records, and property management

  • Manage all Mission Area Capital projects

  • Manage award budget for the mission area

This position requires a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years exempt-level relevant industry experience with demonstrated progression through increasing levels of responsibility

  • Experience managing teams

  • Program manager and/or engineering management

  • Experience working on DoD Programs

  • United States Citizenship

  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Management or related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
