Microchip Technology Technician III - Equipment in Tempe, Arizona
The entry level Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining CVD, Thin-film and Diffusion systems and related support systems at Microchip’s Tempe manufacturing facility. The technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting/repairing unscheduled failures, completing engineering projects, accurately communicating all maintenance activities in EMS.
The ideal candidate will possess an ASEE degree and/or Military Equivalent
Understands and can troubleshoot electro-mechanical circuitry and related components
Demonstrates strong written/verbal communication skills
Possesses some knowledge of component operation (i.e. PLC, temperature/pressure/vacuum/flow controls and sensors, etc.)
Able to utilize various measurement tools (i.e. DVM, O-scope, Leak Detection systems, etc.)
Able to read and understand electrical/electronic circuitry/schematics.
Possess a strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with [toxic] gas safety procedures and protocols a plus.
Mandatory ERT physical including team participation as an active member of the Emergency Response Team.

Hours/Shift: Compressed Work Week, Back-Nights, 12 Hour shifts, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and swing every other Saturday. Includes 15% shift differential.
Essential Physical Functions and working conditions - Must be able to:
Lift 75 lbs
Work in full PPE gown, gloves, face shield for long periods
Work on a 6 foot ladder
Bend, stretch and contort to repair items on the tool. Work bent over with head and arms below waist level
Work on knees or lay down to repair tool
Required to use a respirator
Use basic hand tools
Standing on hard surfaces for long periods on metal or concrete floors
