QA Inspector for the Construction Management Team at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Responsibilities will include providing Construction Management support for the construction of the Terminal 4 North Apron Replacement Project.
Responsibilities include inspection and monitoring of day to day operations of construction. Position will measure conformance to project plans and specifications, health and safety regulations, and environmental compliance. Position requires ability to work independently to identify construction issues and communicate these issues effectively to others in a team environment. Positions requires ability to perform physical activities to safely access and inspect the work. Documentation skills required to provide clear and concise reports of daily activities.
The job responsibilities will include performing a broad cross-section of complex technical and administrative activities that involve Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA); inspection of civil, and structural related construction work; analyzing applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents; maintaining or preparing a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, and change records; evaluating tests and inspections such as excavations, fill placement, grading, compaction, erosion controls; performing surveillance and other methods of verification as specified; providing general inspection on all contractor and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation; monitoring contractors' compliance with approved Quality Control Plan; making recommendations for improvements to standard construction QC provisions as they apply in the field; assuring compliance with approved submittals.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
• 5+ years as inspector performing quality control oversight.
• Project experience with concrete paving, preferably on airport construction projects.
• Will be required to work a combination of either day or night shifts including weekends.
• Employment depends on Airport security badging approval.
• Jacobs will pay for the badging and fingerprinting fees.
Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
