Embry Health Patient Communications - COVID-19 Initiative in Tempe, Arizona

At Embry Health, we strive to increase access to healthcare across the state of Arizona. We are a multi-site operation with drive-thru testing sites located throughout Maricopa, Pinal, Cochise, and Mohave Counties. The Field Unit has primarily focused on COVID-19 testing, however, they are expanding to provide a variety of primary care related services including vaccinations, med checks, refills, and other services. Designed to increase access to medical services during the pandemic, especially for those who are unable to go into a traditional clinic setting. Test/clinic sites operate a variety of hours with many being open 24/7. Locations of clinic sites cover diverse locations such as parking lots, long term temporary structures, community college locations.

Job Summary:

We are seeking individuals to join our patient communications team. This is an in-office based position. This position will serve as the first point of contact for Embry Health patients - including phone calls, text messages, and patient portal messages. A successful candidate will demonstrate superb communication skills and ability to effectively communicate across multiple channels. The Patient Communications Specialist is responsible for delivering a high level of care and attention to our patients.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with patients in a prompt and courteous manner, providing excellent and personalized patient service

  • Verify patient demographics to ensure information is correct and consistent in all appropriate EMR formats

  • Assists with patient inquiries of all types in an effort to streamline the process for patients

  • Provide patients with pre-appointment information and/or education appropriate to the nature of the visit

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical testing sites including locations, hours, and services offered

  • Schedule patient appointments following protocol and guidelines provided to assist clinical personnel in maintaining optimal patient flow

  • Manage the clinical inbox to ensure patients receive timely service - posting patient test results to their chart, communicate with labs regarding outstanding orders, answering and triaging patient cases

  • Maintain strict confidentiality for patients in accordance with Emory Health policies and HIPAA, accessing only information needed to appropriately handle the request.

  • Maintain a thorough, accurate, and professional quality of work and follow established policies and guidelines

  • Interact harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of organizational goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned by a supervisor

  • Familiarity with Athena, Vonage, and Microsoft Suite applications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in customer service preferred

  • Previous experience working in a high volume call center role preferred

Pay Rate:

  • $16/hr

Schedule:

  • Seeking full-time and part-time employees

  • Multiple shifts available; days, evenings, and weekends. We are primarily looking for individuals that can work the following shifts

  • Weekdays: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

  • Weekends: Various shifts available
