Position description Applications received by April 14, 2021, will be considered for first round of interviews. Position is currently 100% remote, however access to the Arizona campuses is required. Teleworking will be re-addressed in summer 2021. The Program Manager-CME works collaboratively in a team structure to advance the mission of the Department in alignment with the strategic plans for Education and Mayo Clinic. The Program Manager-CME plans, directs, coordinates and delivers programs on behalf of the Department as assigned. Collaborates with physician and non-physician course directors in the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuing medical education courses. Must be responsible for ensuring that Mayo CME programs meet Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) essential areas and standards. Monitors resources while controlling cost and seeking new efficiencies to stay within the planned budget. Must be able to manage and organize large workloads for timely completion of projects. Collaborates with a diverse group of departments within Clinical, Research, Education and Administrative areas. Manages program teams to ensure goals are well-defined, aligned with business objectives and accomplished. Identifies tasks required to meet goals and procures and manages required resources from functional and administrative teams.

The Program Manager-CME should be familiar with and monitor all major program activities, ensure current information, quality and integrity and provide consistency in content. The Program Manager-CME will support the establishment and maturation of the program management infrastructure within the Department, developing templates, promoting best practices, developing and/or procuring tools, educating and mentoring team members and other program members. Job functions include designing educational needs assessment tools, developing behavioral objectives, designing/implementing CME courses, and evaluating course outcomes with the goal of improving patient care. Must be responsible for complete documentation of the educational process. CME courses are held in Scottsdale, Arizona, and other national locations. The Program Manager-CME acts as an interface and communications link between the Department and its physician and administrative customers as well as partners inside and outside Mayo Clinic. The Program Manager-CME facilitates problem solving through the development of alternate approaches and solutions; identifies areas to improve quality of services; and investigates new approaches to delivery of information required to support the Department of Education services.

Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Communications, Marketing or related field is required. Master's degree in related field preferred. Continuing Medical Education, meeting management, or related experience of 3 or more years required. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation preferred or achieved within 3 years of employment in this position.

Travel requirement up to 25%. Must be willing to travel to program location/destinations throughout the United States. Additional qualifications Strong leadership, mentoring, personnel development, organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required preferably in a project setting. Must have a strong customer focus and attention to detail. Must have extensive organization and planning skills. Computer software skills are essential. Must be able to assume responsibility for and prioritize a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and efficiently. Requires good decision-making and judgment capabilities. Requires presentation skills to present information and concepts to large and small groups and committees. Demonstrated skills in managing individuals, small work groups, and teams. Proficiency in word processing and database/meeting management computer software required. Must be competent to interact with and effectively use the institutionally defined suite of basic software applications and receptive to learning new applications that support departmental activities.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,128.00, based on a full-time position.
