What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible and accountable for the electrical technical planning, scheduling, cost analysis, risk analysis and successful execution of major projects and programs containing substantial, complex electrical content

  • Lead electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), interface analysis and definition for the design and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems for major programs and projects containing substantial, complex electrical content

  • Lead the requirements and functional allocation to electrical units, modules and components Expert in the principles and techniques of Electrical Engineering

  • Plan and lead electrical engineering root cause analysis for complex electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues

  • Lead the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers

  • Develop and present electrical requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, team mates and customers

  • May lead or have significant contributions to technical subcontract management for medium to large subcontracts that may include SOW development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight, and subcontractor work product evaluation and acceptance

  • Lead electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systems

  • Evaluate vendor capability to support product development

  • Apply an expert understanding of the organizationally defined electrical processes throughout the lifecycle of the program or project

  • Participation in the development, maintenance and improvement of the electrical organizational processes

  • Support the generation of l engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle

  • Lead the research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability

  • May be a book boss on a proposal

  • Establish the overall electrical technical approach on large technical proposals

  • May participate in multi-divisional or multi-company Integrated Product Team or working group

  • May supervise lower level employees

  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

  • Work on advanced applications that may result in new business for the company

  • Frequent contact with all levels across the entire company

  • Serve as consultant to management and customers on projects and applications

  • May serve as company technical spokesperson

  • Work under consultative direction on predetermined long range objectives

  • Assignments may be self-initiated

  • Work on unusually complex problems and provides creative and innovative solutions

  • May function in a project leadership role

  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations may have long-term effects and may affect the image of the company's technological capability

  • Contributes to shaping major market opportunities

  • Drive development of innovative technologies

  • Demonstrated use and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills

  • Highly skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions

  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering design

  • Understands and applies project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls

  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope growth

  • Travel may be required.

  • Security clearance may be required

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams in major where major is defined as having schedule risk or technical complexity development efforts

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required combined with 10 + years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree combined with 8 + years of relevant work experience.
