As a member of the senior executive team, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for overseeing all technology-related efforts at the company (both customer-facing products and internal systems and support). The CTO will partner closely with the product team and will be responsible for the execution of the organization’s comprehensive product vision, and the design and execution of the company’s IT strategy. Enhancing the user experience, upgrading the platform through agile software development, using data to drive business performance, and building technology solutions that meet the growth and profitability goals of the company will be critical requirements for the role. The CTO at Naturally Slim will provide the technical vision and organizational leadership required to deploy and continuously improve the company’s industry leading technology platform. Internally, the CTO will lead all IT planning and delivery / support efforts to support the business’s operations and achieve more cost-effective enterprise-wide IT operations.


  • Participating in the refinement of the company’s growth strategy and product vision.

  • Communicating the company’s technology strategy to investors, Board Members, stakeholder’s, management, staff, partners, and customers.

  • Building productive partnerships with the executive team and their staff members to facilitate collaboration in assessing and recommending technologies for the present, short-term, and long-term. ▪

  • Defining and establishing a customer-driven, and customer-focused technology culture, reinforced by the development and management of staffing, systems, programs, methodologies, processes, and metrics.

  • Recruiting, coaching, and managing a high-performing team of product engineering and IT professionals to develop and sustain the internal and customer-facing technology platforms.

  • Leading build vs. buy decisions that align with the technology strategy and the goals of the business and its shareholders.

  • Utilizing data to drive company and customer performance. ▪ Meaningfully contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration.

  • Ensuring products and platforms deliver a high-quality experience for all end-users.

  • Creating and maintaining an appropriate prioritization on quality and security policies.

  • Contributing subject matter expertise on the technology of potential partners or acquisitions and leading the integration of any acquired technology resources.

  • Developing, monitoring, and managing the annual operating and capital budgets for the technology function consistent with corporate strategy and financial guidelines; paired with a focus on creating competitive advantage while maintaining customer value and satisfaction, as well as shareholder value.

  • The successful candidate will have a track record of success across most of the following technical competencies:

  • Digital Consumer Product Expertise - Expertise in the development of digital consumer products and solutions. Digital health expertise, such as those found in value-based care, telehealth, patient engagement, or population health expertise is preferred. ▪

  • Technology Strategy - The proven ability to develop a long-term software product vision and technology strategy that are scalable and support the company’s overall strategy.

  • Software Product Development - Proven expertise in the development of commercial software where agile SDLC methods are utilized. Prior Learning Management System (LMS) software development success a plus.

  • Data Management - Proven knowledge of data and analytics; understanding of internal systems and how to position data internally and to customers to drive adoption and business performance. ▪ Team Building & Leadership - The proven ability to identify, recruit, and retain top talent to build engineering and technical capacity throughout the organization.

  • Success in Investor-Backed Companies - Demonstrated success working in a growth stage environment driven by an analytical and data focused leadership team and Board with aggressive goals. ▪ Architecture - Ability to manage the design and delivery of top-quality technical specifications for both B2B and B2C platforms - rooted in solid technical acumen.

  • Vendor Management - Solid evidence of end-to-end vendor management and advanced negotiating skills. Track record of managing technology build vs. buy decisions, as well as the successful utilization of outside partnerships to augment company services or product development capabilities.

  • Product Management - Proven success assisting in the creation, design, development and management of an ongoing product roadmap, as well as the introduction of new features and functionality. ▪ Mobile Application Development - Expertise in leading the execution of a mobile product strategy


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; prefer a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering leadership, with an emphasis on modern software tools, platforms, and methods.


General office working conditions exist. Desk located in workstation area with little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to area and telephone calls.
