ON Semiconductor Silicon Characterization Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join their Signal Conditioning & Timing products team, located in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Silicon characterization Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a cross functional team to provide wide variety of high-speed transceivers, redrivers, retimers and repeaters product for our customers.

Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop silicon bring-up hardware& DUT PCB using PADS or Allegro.

  • Develop & Optimize LabVIEWautomation for efficient and reliable data collection.

  • Assist in the development of testmethodologies to enable validation & characterization of our products andensure they meet all functionality and datasheet specifications.

  • Work closely with our Applicationand Design teams to ensure robust end system performance.

  • Deliver Silicon validation andcharacterization reports on silicon performance.

  • The Ideal candidate should have the following Qualifications:

  • BS (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience in lab-bench environment, debug and reporting for Mixed-signal high-speed transceiver ICs and IPs.

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment including digital multimeter, source meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope, power supply, BERT, VNA, etc. required.

  • Strong LabVIEW or Python skills for test automations and data analysis.

  • Knowledge on transmission line theory and signal integrity is required.

  • Solid understanding of models used for testing ESD, including HBM, CDM, MM and IEC-61000-4-2.

  • Experienced working on SerDes IPs like USB, PCIe, DP, and HDMI interfaces is preferred.

  • Exhibit good teamwork and collaborative attitude, work closely with internal teams to root-cause issues, and provide robust solutions.
