Mercury Systems Signal / Power Integrity Electrical Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona
In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to further Mercury Systems' advanced, custom microelectronics solutions by developing engineering innovations while exceeding expectations for our commercial, industrial, and military customers.
Support the research, development, and engineering of complex microelectronic components and assemblies including: systems-in-package, multi-chip-modules, and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
Perform signal / power integrity design, simulation, and analysis of microelectronic assemblies and their constituent parts including: multiple die/chiplets, interposers, Ball-Grid-Array (BGA) substrates, printed-wiring-boards, packages, and materials
Knowledge across analog, high-speed digital, and RF / mm-wave domains (up to 40GHz frequency). E.g. Ensuring proper end-to-end Bit Error Rate performance across high-speed SERDES interfaces
Development and quantification of signal and power integrity performance requirements, time-domain circuit analysis, SYZ-parameter modeling and analysis, Power Distribution Network (PDN) decoupling, IR drop, and current density analysis
Supports multidisciplinary research and collaboration across engineering disciplines, operations, quality, and other supporting organizations
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Considers the effects of actions on the system as a whole. I.e. "Systems-thinking"
Supports project management with planning, organizing, scheduling, and project execution
Investigates solutions to product and process problems and issues
Willing to help the team in areas outside of specific technical discipline to accomplish goals
You will be a part of:
The Custom Microelectronics Solutions (CMS) team responsible for the rapid development of affordable, chip-scale, secure, and trusted open system architecture devices for our customers. This leading-edge capability also addresses a need by the Department of Defense (DoD) for made-in-USA microelectronics that equip our warfighters with state-of-the-art, military-grade products that leverage the most advanced commercial technologies.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
3+ Years of signal integrity experience
Must be able to obtain government security clearance
Work effectively individually and as part of a team
Solve difficult and complex problems
Manage small to mid-size projects or processes

Strong background in electromagnetic theory and transmission line theory
Background in power integrity & PDN design in frequency and/or time-domain analysis
Experience with SYZ parameter extraction using 3D full-wave field-solvers, e.g. ANSYS HFSS
Ability to setup and run Input/output Buffer Information Specification (IBIS) or IBIS Algorithmic Modeling Interface (IBIS-AMI) transient circuit simulations using package and PCB CAD files, and SYZ-parameter files
Experience with the following is a plus:
Packaging and PCB technology
Through-Silicon-Via TSV design experience
Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR), and oscilloscopes in a lab
DDR4/5 JEDEC specs and/or SERDES standards (PCIE, 100G Ethernet)
ANSYS: HFSS, Electronics Desktop, Siwave, Q3D
Cadence: Virtuoso, SiP, Concept, and Engineering Data Management (EDM)
Atlassian tool suite including Confluence and Jira
