Description

The Senior Compensation Professional develops, implements, and administers compensation programs. The Senior Compensation Professional works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderately complex to complex where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Compensation Professional is a dynamic role that requires a highly motivated and intellectually agile individual. In addition to leveraging your analytical and technical skills, you will be asked to apply business and finance acumen to complex business challenges. Through diligent observation, participation and research, you will develop an understanding of business needs and objectives and then assimilate and evaluate information to generate insights and guidance within the HR organization.

  • Lead compensation market data processes including compensation survey participation, annual benchmarking review, salary range development, pay competitiveness analysis and ad-hoc market pricing requests

  • Participate in design, development and administration of Humana's enterprise compensation programs including base pay, annual incentives, other reward programs, and the job architecture/career framework

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory landscape; research trends to evaluate their impact and develop recommended program/process changes accordingly

  • Leverage Workday, MarketPay and Excel to perform compensation analysis and cost modeling

  • Develop, test, and sell alternative models or concepts that improve our ability to execute on the compensation strategy

  • Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Communications or another similar field

  • 5 or more years of demonstrated compensation experience

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to compensation in areas such as FLSA, minimum wage, pay transparency, equal pay, etc.

  • Deep analytical experience with an ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful insights that support decision-making

  • Strong business acumen

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products

  • Strong research and problem solving abilities

  • Previous experience working within a team-based atmosphere with shared responsibility

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Highly organized and self-driven with an ability to meet multiple deadlines

  • Proven consultation skills in a business-facing role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of compensation survey data and market pricing methodologies

  • Previous Workday and Payscale MarketPay experience

  • Experience in evaluating job structures and developing recommendations to meet business objectives

  • Deep analytical reporting experience

  • Progressive business/HR consulting experience

  • Prior experience analyzing data and metrics to implement change in departmental processes
