Description

Under general supervision, provides complex and diversified administrative support for Freeport- McMoRan Mining Company’s Tailings Crushed Leach and Water (TCLW) department.

  • Schedules, plans, and coordinates large multi-stakeholder meetings virtual and/or in-person. Prepares agendas, transcribes, and distributes minutes of meetings.

  • Assists TCLW Directors with developing five (5)-year program schedule and integrates updates as needed through coordination with relevant team leads. Assists with follow-up on obtaining and collating information from site teams.

  • Performs complex, diversified and specialized secretarial/administrative work for organization leadership or functional unit staff. Prepares and types memoranda, letters and reports. Creates computer forms, templates and tables. Compiles statistical data.

  • Coordinates or prepares a wide variety of complex financial and operational reports including monthly reports for TCLW managed projects. Coordinates collection and presentation of budget data for the department.

  • Collaborates with TCLW team and Human Resources to recruit new employees, arrange interviews and finalize new hire selection process, and onboard new or transferring employees.

  • Initiates contracts, prepares accruals, and communicates contract status to contract owner and responsible for TCLW managed contracts.

  • Assists with planning travel itineraries and coordinates and assists with arranging travel plans for groups of internal and external professionals.

  • Eagerly learns and interprets established policy and processes and provides TCLW leadership with information for the resolution of problems. Seeks opportunities for and advocates for process and information management improvements.

  • May attend meetings with or as a representative of their supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five (5) years administrative/secretarial experience

  • Knowledge of office management/administrative support practices and procedures. Skilled in preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports and files

  • Knowledge of basic accounting, budgeting or business practices and methods

  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

  • Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database, collaboration, and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple programs and projects

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years administrative/secretarial experience

  • High School diploma, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree

  • Certifications for using Microsoft Office tools / other relevant software

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Occasionally work will be performed in a mine or manufacturing plant or outdoor setting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.

  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws
