This position will support the Director of the Neurogenetics lab. This position will have general management, project management, and project facilitation responsibilities.

General Management Responsibilities
i.Facilitate onboarding of new staff and students (DCC process for UofA, Student Learner process for PCH)
i.Maintains IACUC records, submissions, and amendments. Oversees compliance relating to animal work.
ii.Processes MTAs for transfer of research specimens
Project planning & oversight
i.Manages project budget; participates in grant preparation and managing grant expenses
ii.Negotiates pricing and specifications with vendors as necessary for project-specific purchases
iii.Oversees/supports study design and methodology in collaboration with project team
iv.Coordinates specimen collection and processing of samples as needed for projects
v.Acts as liaison between collaborating organizations and other research institutions to facilitate completion of collaborative projects
vi.Develops clear project goals and timeline for completion in consultation with PI and project team
vii.Provides/arranges training and intervention as needed for project completion.
viii.Develops/refines lab and experimental policies, procedures and protocols (i.e. SOPs) as needed.
Project facilitation and support
i.Oversees lab staff in ongoing experiments; reviews interval progress PI
ii.Arranges and conducts meetings in support of project goals
iii.Orchestrates, supports, and/or delegates specific tasks necessary to achieve project goals as appropriate
iv.Ensures completion of data analysis; interval preparation of data for presentation and publication
v.Provides updates and prepares reports on project progress as needed
Participates in professional development programs to advance understanding and maintain current methodologies, practices, and philosophies as related to the research area.
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
