Job Overview:

Fire Intelligence Specialist will gather, coordinate, and disseminate all reported incidents through a multitude of media communications and communication centers. This position will be working remotely from home, however, home base location has to be in the Arizona area .

Responsibilities:

  • Gathers data for dissemination to Fire Mitigation Team and Duty Officer. Compiles other various documents, including fire reports, for verbal and written daily briefings.

  • Daily production and updates of GIS maps to portray wildland fire data as well as processing GPS data from field personnel/responding resources.

  • Share and contribute cleared and approved data to the dispatch center team on a daily basis. Provide recommendations to Publicly Managed Land Fire Managers by providing locations of assets in the event of an incident.

  • Provide daily briefings to Fire Mitigation Team and Duty Officer summarizing the daily intel reports and predicted weather using maps and various data sources.

  • Assist in maintaining fire data to Fire Mitigation Team.

  • Constant communication skills to support planning and decision-making associated with operating procedures from various agencies involved during increased fire activity.

Requirements:

  • Daily intelligence tasks are produced quickly, accurately, and efficiently in short time frames with attention to detail; often under stressful conditions

  • Work with computer hardware and software systems including ArcGIS, Collector, MS Excel, MS Teams.

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing events.

  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours well beyond normal operating periods during times of heightened fire activity

  • Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS), National Fire Danger Rating System (NFDRS), National Interagency Incident Management System (NIMS) as well as others.

  • Familiarity with various land management agencies, Service Territory, and the geographic boundaries of the state to accurately portray emergency and fire situations to client

  • Knowledge of firefighting organization and dispatch coordination system and how resources are used at all levels to gather and disseminate intelligence information.

  • Ability to understand fire weather terminology and the associated effects.

  • Communicate all the above effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to learn utility infrastructure and ownership.

  • Communicate and coordinate sensitive utility information related to wildfire impacts to Fire Mitigation Team and DO.

  • Must be able to obtain security clearance related to this position.
