Mercury Systems Product Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Join a tight knit Engineering team manufacturing products for our nation's most important end users -- our war fighters and first responders. Under general supervision support new product introduction and the sustaining efforts of the production product lines.

You are responsible for

  • Interfaces with suppliers and company departments such as design, document control, test, process, production and quality to analyze and resolve problems. Limited interfacing with customers.

  • Supports the NPI process creating process routers with process engineering support.

  • Support of product development, qualification and release to production.

  • Reviews schematics, datasheets, customer requirements etc. as needed.

  • Supports product transfer schedules and review (PDR, CDR, FDR) meetings.

  • Supports the product engineering team reports on yield, field returns & change notifications.

  • Supports product scrap reduction and yield improvement efforts.

  • Supports sustaining product management relative to material End of Life notifications, alternate suppliers and customer product change notifications.

  • Supports customer product returns, including build documentation reviews, fault isolation, failure analysis and reporting results.

  • As required, supports component IQA inspection sheets, custom product quotes, provides estimates for non-recurring engineering, tooling, and labor.

  • Dispositions NCRs due to process and material deviations along with lower than expected yields.

  • Regular attendance is required.

  • May occasionally be required to work overtime.

You are a part of

A team of established and productive professional individual contributors in the Data Business Unit R&D group under the Microelectronics Division at Mercury Systems. This candidate will work independently with general supervision.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent

  • 5 years of hardware engineering experience in a high-tech microelectronics development environment

  • Ability to design tests, test fixtures and implement into manufacturing processes

  • Define product hardware architecture and system level designs based on product requirements and business model

  • Make strategic trade-offs in make-buy-partner technology decisions.

  • Develop, and adhere to, resource plans, schedule, and budget

  • Ability to drive DFM/DFT issues back into the design or NPI team for resolution

  • Strong knowledge of process development in a custom design environment
