Facebook is seeking an experienced construction manager to join our Innovator team as a Product Development Specialist. Innovator, formerly known as Infrastructure Construction Management (ICM) Design For Safe Manufacture and Assembly DFSMA) is the newest ICM (Infrastructure Construction Management) organization which is specifically dedicated to answering and evolving the “how” we build question to enable smoother more predicable outcomes in the construction execution space by identifying and developing parts and pieces which can be manufactured off, on or near site verse traditionally built-in place. The Product Development Team is a cross-functional team of innovators that are constantly looking for the smarter build approach. Identifying, developing, and iterating on great ideas to achieve a smarter build. The Fabrication & Integration Team is a cross-functional team of supply chain experts that evolve the product drawings and the related supply chain to ensure a successful adoption and sourcing of the innovation in the final execution by ensuring that the fabrications, whether fully offsite manufactured, prefabricated, or traditionally built in place, is smarter. The Deployment Team is a cross-functional team that connects innovation to delivery/execution with various deliverables and interactions which include collecting the development of the Deployment Execution Plan and the Master Construction Model (MCM) as well as being the main point of contact for pillars such as ICM Program Development, Data Center Design (DCD), and SE&D Business Alignment.

Required Skills:

  1. Responsible to be the primary Project Manager to ensure the absorption of innovation within ICM.

  2. Responsible to update/manage Innovator-centric goals in relation to ICM Pathfinder (initiative tracker) as appropriate and champion progress/success in this space.

  3. Responsible for leading the MCM (master construction model) and connecting with the prototypes from the MPL (master prefabrication library) to increase the use of prefabrication and ensure program consistency.

  4. Responsible to request contracts and approve invoices for Innovator support teams/personnel (i.e. GCs, ECs, MCs, Fabrication SMEs, etc. – not inclusive of design consultants). Support scope of work development as needed in partnership with Program Development.

  5. Responsible to optimize and ensure relevance of the master prefabrication library (global database) and identify opportunities for collaboration, prototype/mockup, etc. to ensure we invest our innovation time wisely across ICM.

  6. Responsible for identifying the DFMA opportunities and strategies for their development.

  7. Responsible for Develop the Products to a high level of LOD (LOD250+) for embedment in the targeted master design & coordinate with metronome cycles to incorporate the Products.

  8. Responsible for leading builder focus group/teams (general contractors and strategic trade partners).

  9. Partner with the ICM Delivery and Program Development teams to establish a feedback loop that better informs our product development. Identify lessons learned, possible improvements, possible opportunities, etc. and bring them back to the Innovator team.

  10. Partner with the PD team in prefabrication planning with the GC as necessary.

  11. Partner with DCD Accelerator to support embedment of innovation in the MDD/IFC.

  12. Partner with ICM Strategic Business Services (SBS) to leverage, create, and or support data collection and reporting as appropriate including any success metrics and or dashboarding.

  13. Partner with SE&D Business Alignment & ICM Program Development to align stakeholder engagement.

  14. Manage Task Tracking (Kanban Board) for the Deployment Team and follow up with responsible parties as needed to ensure nothing is overlooked that compromises the success of the effort.

  15. Attend the Portfolio Health Reviews, GC QBRs, ABR’s, and the like as able to gain insight into the success, lessons learned, and product feedback in the innovation space. Relay information back to the Innovator team.

  16. Champion the removal of waste and un-necessary complexity in Innovator’s processes where/as possible by leveraging approaches like Agile/Scrum, LEAN, DFMA, Modular, Prefabrication, and design simplification as necessary to optimize the construction process in concert with the mission touchstones.

  17. 40% Domestic Travel to construction sites, fabrication sites, & Fremont headquarters.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical/electrical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent

  2. 10+ years’ experience in construction and/or project planning

  3. Experience in large scale construction management, mission critical or infrastructure

  4. Experience with developing workflows and their associated flowcharts, schedules, and action plans

  5. Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  6. Experience working with Google Docs

  7. Experience working with Bluebeam

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Mission Critical, infrastructure, and/or data center construction experience

  2. Experience working with blended architecture, engineering, and construction teams

  3. Software experience with eBuilder, Procore, and/or BIM 360

  4. Experience with review and approval processes

  5. Administrator/editor level working knowledge of MS SharePoint

  6. Experience with review and approval processes

  7. Experience with LEAN tools (such as Choosing by Advantage, Last Planner/Pull Planning, Gemba, Kanban)

  8. Basic experience with MS Visio and SharePoint

  9. Basic working experience of BIM360, Procore, and or Primavera P6

  10. Administrator/editor level working knowledge of MS SharePoint

  11. Experience with Agile Teams & Processes

  12. Working experience with LEAN tools (choosing by advantage, Pull Planning, Gemba, Kanban)

  13. Working experience with SmartSheet

  14. Experience with IPD projects

  15. PMP Certification

  16. Scrum Master Certification
