Job Title: Oxford Life Ins. (a U-Haul affiliated company) – Agent Services Phone Representative

Job Overview: As part of a close-knit team, responsibilities include taking calls and providing excellent service to the agents that write business with our company, document all calls in the system, make outbound and follow-up calls as needed, be a team player promoting a positive environment, and maintain all departmental goals.

Responsibilities and Duties: This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.

  • Understand callers’ needs in order to provide exceptional service.

  • Learn our products and processes inside and out, by hands-on and peer training, so you can act as a subject matter expert.

  • Work in several systems in order to obtain the information needed to assist callers.

  • Ability to hold a conversation while accurately documenting (typing) your call and the information discussed.

  • Remain calm and respond appropriately when callers are stressed or upset.

  • Work independently on research, make outbound calls, and perform other projects with set deadlines.

  • Interact with other departments via phone or email effectively and professionally.

  • Identify process improvements; always looking for a better way to do things.

  • Reliable attendance, with some flexibility, is essential.


  • High school diploma / GED

  • Strong work ethic

  • Positive, patient attitude

  • Comfortable using computers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • 1+ year of phone-based customer service experience preferred

  • Insurance and/or financial service industry related experience a plus

"Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it.
