Purpose of Job

We are currently seeking a talented Operations Technology Business Analyst Senior Level for our San Antonio, TX facility or 100% Remote Work Environment. Other possible locations include Plano Texas, Phoenix, Colorado and Tampa.

We are actively seeking a hands-on, technical minded Technology Business Analyst Senior with experience Cloud Operations to lead integrating, customizing, supporting and maintaining AWS cloud based (SaaS) Insurance Application.

Develops and provides financial information and analysis related to technology hardware, technology software, technology consulting, technology contract labor, and technology employee labor expenses for technology resources to drive the decision-making process and support business operations for their department.

  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • On a monthly basis, monitor across a department invoices and purchase orders, ensuring proper receipt, classification, and payment, including any required end of month accruals.

  • Provides training to new financial BAs and department managers regarding USAA IT financial processes.

  • Ensures the department’s workforce tracking and reporting is accurate, including OneSource position maintenance, 3P tracking, Agile team analysis, and forecasting

  • Sets up leases, handles the leasing reconciliation for a department.

  • Handles all financial and workforce related activities related to department and unit changes (re-orgs, unit changes, etc.)

  • Consolidates expenses to a service level across departments and understands the relationship with the Services’ billing at a rate card level. Evaluates under and over-recovery fo service expenses.

  • Evaluates Market Comps calculations and provided analysis around any thresholds possibly being breached

  • Develops trend analyses and other quantitative reports to determine business trends.

  • Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of a complex nature.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum in lieu of a degree.

  • 6 years of related financial process experience to include experience with expense budgeting and forecasting practices.

  • Experience with the application of Technology Business Management methodologies.

  • Advanced experience with Apptio or comparable technology business management application.

  • Advanced understanding of Information Technology terminology and financial processes.

  • Advanced experience with finance and accounting within an IT organization.

  • Advanced experience in application of budget management, reporting and/or forecasting best practices

  • Advanced written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Good understanding of SaaS model, working knowledge of production operation with SaaS providers like Peoplesoft, Workday, Microsoft, Duckcreek .

  • Excellent coordination and collaborative skills, past Project Management experience.

  • Ability to understand and analyze multiple competing priorities and collaborate with team to find best solution for cloud providers

  • 2+ Years Hands on experience with insurance platform such as Guidewire or Duck Creek

  • Working knowledge of on premises and Cloud Technologies (AWS) such as Infrastructure, Development, Applications, Database, Storage, Cloud, and other market leading technologies.

  • Hands on experience with DevOps Platform and systems like SumoLogic (logging, alerting), Data Dog (cloud monitoring). DataDog experience preferred

  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as Service Now, Jira, Guidewire community

  • 5+ Years work experience as Development or Support engineer within any cloud environment ideally AWS – hybrid clouds or GKE (Google)

  • 3+ Years of experience as Senior of lead role in the engineering team

  • Working knowledge within the Insurance Industry preferred

Additional Information

We are actively seeking a hands-on, technical minded Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to lead integrating, customizing, supporting and maintaining AWS cloud based (SaaS) Insurance Application.

  • Setting up operational process in collaboration with Vendor and multiple project teams.

  • Setting up release management process and leading and owning deployment of first few releases.

  • Technical escalations around daily operations, maintenance and production environments security according to USAA policies.

  • Participate in the use of DevOps pipeline and associated practices for Continuous Integration and Delivery at all stages including Test, Release, Deploy and Operate.

  • Manage incident escalations and respond to daily operational requests and challenges.

  • Advise and support the Vendor Cloud Operations Team to achieve USAA’s release and production goals.

  • Stay current with technology trends and emerging best practices to provide solution proposals.

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $88,200 - $158,900 *(this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

*Geographical Differential : Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.

Shift premium will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
