This position requires an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager capable of working independently or with a team to successfully implement EH&S initiatives at a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate may lead other EH&S generalist professionals, and will establish objectives and guide other site personnel on the development of critical EH&S programs for appropriate lines of business. The candidate will interface with local EH&S authorities and coordinate with business partners in the development of strategic EH&S initiatives with the goal of enhancing EH&S processes and program performance.
This position will be the primary site trainer for EH&S and heavily focus on safety and health. The work will be on-site.Primary Responsibilities:
Manages multiple level teams and EH&S contractors.
Develops EH&S programs, procedures, reports, permits and training as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
Analyzes audit and inspection findings to achieve and maintain safe work practices.
Interfaces with local EHS authorities to achieve and maintain the facilities are compliant with local regulations.
Develops internal and external EH&S reports and submissions to achieve and maintain standard documentation.
Works directly with Facilities Management, Operations Management and site
Engineering on EH&S projects/issues to develop equipment and process improvements that reduce or eliminate EH&S hazards for the site.
Advises business partners on achieving and maintaining understanding and compliance with EH&S regulations.
Develops and implements strategic EH&S initiatives and coordinates/drives the necessary tactical resources/elements to achieve and maintain successful implementation.
Acts as a key member of site EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans and procedures including EH&S Program Management.
Has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties.
May perform tasks associated with Health / Safety and Environmental / Compliance.
Tracks and drives resolution of EH&S concerns raised by employees and site leadership.May have responsibility for medical at the site.Organizes and maintains EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and UTC requirements.
Provides EH&S training to site employees
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
In-depth understanding of MS Office Suite
Ability to organize and re-organize daily workload by priorities in a fast paced environment
A proactive approach to problem solving and sense of urgency
Proven success implementing change and process improvements at a manufacturing site
Essential EH&S management software experience
Presentation skills using PowerPoint
Project management experience
Prior experience working in the aerospace or manufacturing industry
Prior experience work as an EH&S generalist and experience managing teams.
Advanced degree in EH&S or related subject
