POSITION SUMMARY: The Director, Strategy works with various functional leaders to drive strategy development and implementation/execution of strategic initiatives across the organization. This role leads strategic project team delivery of large scale operational and organizational effectiveness, growth, and process improvement solutions. The role will provide thought leadership and make sound recommendations for strategy solutions. These internal strategic projects include partnering with senior leaders across the organization and various external stakeholders.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines and facilitates the strategic planning process.

  • Leads industry related research, oversees synthesis of findings to identify and develop strategy portfolio.

  • Aligns and drives portfolio and prioritization and supports critical strategic initiatives in their formation of recommendations before their transition to implementation.

  • Conducts qualitative analysis both externally and internally to develop structured recommendations for strategic initiatives

  • Designs, develops, and assesses financial implications of strategic solutions

  • Leads and facilitates work groups of leaders across the organization to gain input and form strategic recommendations

  • Develops fact-based recommendations and presents them to senior management to enable critical decisions.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates proven knowledge of and/or success in an organization strategy development role

  • Demonstrated project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Top tier strategy consulting experience.

  • Experience in waste, recycling, transportation, or other heavy industrial environments.

  • Experience managing process improvement initiatives, including familiarity with common methodologies (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum eight years relevant business experience

  • Five years management or strategy consulting experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree/MBA preferred
