Responsibilities

Job Summary :

Directs the provision of nursing care in the Neuroscience business unit while maintaining standards of patient care. Collaborates and interacts with the world class team atBarrow Neurological Institute. (https://www.barrowneuro.org/)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the Neuroscience nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.

  • Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.

  • Leads a talented team of 8 Neuro Nurse Managers. Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.

  • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.

  • Clinical Policies and Standards: Knowledge of and ability to use industry standards, evidence-based practice and policies and procedures relevant to function and organization.

  • Clinical Performance Improvement: Knowledge of the factors contributing to quality patient care, and the ability to influence these factors in a positive way.

  • Healthcare Business Acumen: Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in both clinical and non-clinical situations.

  • Workforce Diversity Management: Understanding of the business value of diverse perspectives and opinions and ability to understand, appreciate and employ the unique contributions of associates of varied cultures, nationalities, ethnic backgrounds, genders, ages, points of view, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience : Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).

Licensure : Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Other credentials or modules may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: OR experience.

Current or previous leadership of multiple departments in addition to Neuro.

Magnet hospital experience.
