As a Data Engineer in the Identity and Access Management Program, you will contribute to crafting, developing, trouble shooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, and documenting data components that support the ongoing data-mining needs of the Identity and Access Management Program.
Contributes to crafting, developing, trouble shooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying and documenting all data components (data architecture, logical and physical data models, database objects and database administration) that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.
Entry-level position. Member of a Identity and Access Management team reporting to a Director of Information Security.

Reviews data requirements / data stories and corresponding data sources and data architecture.
Documents data requirements / data stories and maintains data models into existing data architectures.
Supports management of data assets as per the enterprise standards, guidelines and policies.
Reviews and understands the processing requirements inclusive of data and transaction volumes, scalability, security and performance requirements.
Assists in building and improving the database design and infrastructure required to support the Business portfolio.
Provides production environment support for database systems and processes.
Communicates and works closely with business and product teams to support changes and implementation.
Finds opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.
Takes part in reviews of own work or with colleagues.

Education & Experience:
2 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
Understanding of Agile or other rapid application development methods
Exposure to design and development across one or more database management systems (e.g. IMS, DB2 zOS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Netezza (PDA/DB2AA)) as appropriate.
Exposure to methods relating to application and database design, development and automated testing.
Understanding of Big data / NOSQL design and development with variety of data stores (document, column family, graph, etc).
Good understanding and Technical knowledge of DBMS products and ecosystem – e.g. storage formats, access algorithms, data management processes, administration, data maintenance, replication, high availability, encryption, etc.”
General knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational & non-relational databases.
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field preferred.

Basic understanding of XML and schema development/reuse, database concepts, database designs, Open Source, big data technology and NoSQL will be an added advantage
Application of industry recognized methods, processes and standards
Has understanding of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, designing, building, testing, configuring and maintaining of assigned application(s)
Able to participate in assigned team’s software delivery methodology (Agile, Scrum, Agile XP, Test-Driven Development, Waterfall, etc.) in support of data management and database development
Familiar with infrastructure technologies and components like servers, jvms, databases, and networking concepts
