During the Internship you will get real-world experience with ownership of projects from day one, as well as the opportunity to develop a network inside and outside of Intel.

You will specifically be responsible for the following activities including, but not limited to:

  • Performing customer issue reproduction and debug in Intel’s lab environment

  • Setting up systems for performance benchmark testing, including installing drives and RAID cards, setting BIOS configuration, installing OS, software, and benchmarking tools and databases.

  • Executing performance benchmarking of Intel servers, SSDs, and software.

  • Assembling and configuring new server platforms

  • Updating system BIOS and SSD firmware

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following behavioral traits:

This is a 1-year internship, with a possibility of extension. The role will be full time during the summer and part time for the rest of the year.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • 6+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Linux

  • Software/Script Development

  • Debugging

  • This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a master’s or PhD degree, or a bachelor’s degree with three years’ related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Customer Interfacing, Computer Hardware Setup, Enterprise/Cloud Environments, Caching Software, SSDs, NVMe, RAID, and Software Defined Storage

  • Experience in Project Management / Product Management / Product Marketing
