Digital team associates focus on delivering initiatives that help our pet parents find and discover products, bring enterprise priorities to life digitally, design new user experiences, build new features and capabilities, and manage key omni-channel programs. The team takes a data-driven approach and leverages quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the experience and make business decisions.

About the Job

The Business Optimization Specialist will assist in the planning and execution of the promotional strategy for the online assortment and maintain overall integrity across all platforms (website and app), including accuracy of information. The position will support company initiatives across the website and mobile app.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the planning and execution of assigned area’s promotional / content plans, ensuring data quality while meeting execution deadlines

  • Responsible for creation of promotional brief, image selection, links, and ranking of product assortment.

  • Plan and schedule mobile push notifications to drive engagement, conversion and revenue

  • Assist in the strategy to drive mobile app downloads

  • Leverages SEO when creating promotional plans

  • Works closely with web developers to communicate changes/updates to promotional plans and strategies.

  • Partner with digital marketing team to optimize landing pages

  • Manage email production workflow including linking strategy

  • Partner with digital merchandising to identify business optimization needs and plan for execution

  • Identifies opportunities to support the online content strategy based on customer and competitive insights, brand strategy and Digital initiatives

  • Review and analyze online competitor site merchandising, promotional execution and tactics, user experience and product presentation. Report findings and provide appropriate counter-strategies.

  • Partner with User experience team to develop new concepts, page layouts, and navigation to support category strategies.

  • Research feedback from all available resources: customer service, customer feedback reporting, product ratings and reviews, social media, store partners and utilize the information to optimize the site and improve metrics

  • Analyze reporting to identify performance trends and opportunities, execute strategies to drive sales

  • Provide subject matter expertise on business optimization initiatives, projects, and testing

    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications, including intermediate capabilities with Excel and Word

  • High degree of internet savvy, with a curiosity and enthusiasm for digital trends

  • Excellent problem solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various technical and business issues

  • Above average command of English; proficiency with a variety of writing styles

  • Good design aesthetic and a strong ability to judge visual appearance, ensuring alignment with brand and enterprise standards

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, “self-starter” environment serving as a catalyst for change and managing multiple work streams simultaneously

  • Exhibit professional initiative and entrepreneurial drive

    • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelors degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of experience in Digital

  • 2 years of experience utilizing online analytics to optimize sales and customer experience

  • TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • 2 years of experience working with an online platform (GSI, WCA, or equivalent)

  • 2 years of experience working with analytics package (Omniture, Coremetrics, Google or equivalent)
