The Educational Partnerships office serves a critical role to engage business and community organizations with Northern Arizona University. It requires dedicated professionals to network, conduct partnership meetings; generate and execute outreach activities; and advance prospective students for admission to Northern Arizona University. The Strategic Partnerships Coordinator position is intended for professionals with experience building and maintaining relationships with individuals and institutions that support the goals and outcomes of an organization.
This position is based in Phoenix and in-state travel and working some evenings and weekends is required. It will manage an assigned territory of school districts, businesses, and government agencies to promote the university to working professionals that are seeking higher education to advance their career.
Helps cultivate and manage a recruitment territory or territories that include school districts, businesses and government agencies.
Builds relationships with partners to generate outreach activities and promotional opportunities to engage employees of assigned organizations with NAU programs and services.
Recruits prospective students to the University for all educational delivery methods including our online, statewide and Flagstaff campuses.
Conducts dynamic presentations to a multitude of individuals and groups to communicate the vision, mission, values, and programs of the University.
Assists with developing on-site cohort programs to serve an organization’s professional educational needs.
Supports and guides prospective students, families, and other constituents on program offerings; admission requirements; the application process; financial aid and scholarship opportunities and various other student and enrollment related services.
Coordinates events for assigned partnerships, including but not limited to: information sessions; webinars; and attending education or benefits fairs.
Assists with programming and event planning conducted by the University to advance program objectives.
Represents the University, its mission, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents, in particular, school districts, community based organizations and local businesses.
Supports the University in promoting and coordinating its Continuing Education unit, including credit and non-credit micro-credentials, summer workshops and youth camps.
Assists with evaluating program effectiveness and contributes to developing improved programming and processes to achieve University and departmental goals.
Interacts and maintains excellent working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and outside/community agencies in facilitating outreach activities that generate enrollment to meet program objectives for the University.
Helps collect and maintain data to determine the effectiveness of recruitment strategies in their respective recruitment territories.
Completes reports related to recruitment, enrollment projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
Stays apprised of, and current on, degree program requirements, new enrollment management strategies, and best practices for communication to prospective students, and other important constituents to meet University enrollment goals. Stays current on local, regional, and national trends pertaining to area of assignment and recruitment territories.
Collaborates with assigned supervisor and Educational Partnerships staff in the development of strategic planning, training materials, marketing resources, and policies and procedures.
Participates in trainings conducted by the University, locally, online or in Flagstaff to advance program knowledge and student service skills.

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, marketing, or related field, AND
2-4 years of relevant experience, OR
A combination of education, experience, and training.
Program or event planning experience.
Arizona Driver’s license and the ability with or without accommodation to meet the NAU requirements for authorized driver.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of business educational partnership tools, processes, policies, and concepts.
Knowledge of best practices for community partnership in higher education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with, or ability to learn, SalesForce CRM, PeopleSoft Student Information System, Business Objects and Enterprise Reporting tools

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check.

The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report (https://in.nau.edu/police-department/annual-security-and-fire-safety-reports/) is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus and NAU-Fort Defiance as these campuses have on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.

The budgeted salary range is $41,421 - $51,776.
**The starting salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected applicant balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System; paid vacation and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified dependents.
