Strategy, Digital, & Innovation (SDI)

Strategy, Digital & Innovation group is responsible for Corporate Strategy and its Digital and Innovation teams. The group positions Wells Fargo for the future by enhancing the company’s focus on planning for the digital future and investing in the customer experience. The group leads corporate strategic planning; defines and manages digital platform standards and capabilities; and manages innovation priorities, opportunities, and companywide efforts to drive transformation. The team works closely with the company’s Technology Group and business lines to deliver digital solutions and innovation to customers that are integrated, intuitive, and seamless across channels.

The Role

The AI Optimization & Implementation Leader is a role being newly created to centrally manage the implementation, validation, and optimization of AI Solutions within the Digital AI team. This leader will report to the Head of Digital AI and will lead a team responsible for implementing, validating, and optimizing a portfolio of highly complex digital AI solutions; including virtual assistant, predictive insights & guidance, and data-driven personalization platforms.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include the following:

  • Partner with technology partners to deliver new AI solutions through agile methodology

  • Drive training, optimization, and AI models and client experiences to ensure they meet customer and business objectives

  • Perform comprehensive user acceptance testing and validation of AI solutions (pre and post launch) to ensure we deliver against customer and risk objectives

  • Ensure documentation and approval of AI models through model governance

  • Lead a team of highly skilled AI Managers and Consultants

  • Function as a key member of a high-performing, respected, collaborative leadership team

  • Ensure strong risk management practices are created and maintained

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of leadership experience

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Analytics/Insights, or Digital Products/Program Management

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with digital product management and/or digital artificial intelligence in a large, complex financial services organization

  • Familiarity with various AI disciplines such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing

  • Experience leading user acceptance testing and technology & release delivery

  • Demonstrated experience and success in launching large scale transformational Artificial Intelligence within a large institution

  • Ability to develop improvement processes and implementation strategies to ensure rapid business communications and response plan activation

  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of communications development in financial services industry especially related to mitigating brand and operational risks

  • Experience and high comfort level holding individuals accountable for deliverables

  • Creative thinking; great at brainstorming, ultimately helping turn ideas into action

  • Great partner, collaborator, adept at finding and crafting solutions
