Honeywell’s Miller Fall Protection / Xenon – Soll product lines are a leader in the global Fall Protection / Safety at Height industry, supplying the world with fall protection equipment, fall arrest systems, professional training and engineered fall protection solutions.

We have an exciting opportunity to join a leader in personal protection as an Adv Application Engineer. This position is located at one of our primary Fall Protection operations location; Franklin PA, Charlotte, NC, Fort Mill, SC, and Phoenix, AZ operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains complete knowledge of the Xenon/Soll fall protection product line, competitive lifeline products as well as the Miller Fall Protection product line.

  • Maintains understanding of current OSHA, ANSI, CSA, and CE/EN regulations pertaining to fall protection. Addresses inquiries relating to these standards as needed.

  • Educate installers, end users, distributors and Honeywell employees on all levels of custom designed fall protection product information and applications.

  • Answer inbound technical questions regarding custom application fall protection, installation and general use of the Xenon/Soll product line.

  • Recommends and sells fall protection product(s) based upon the specific job application of the customer.

  • Develop fall protection specifications, specification sheets, custom fall protection systems cross reference data, and other systems fall protection sales tools as requested.

  • Estimate costs and author proposals for custom fall protection designs. Determine preliminary layout and design in order to determine labor costs, required fabrications costs, and user equipment costs.

  • Develop, produce and maintain CAD/Solid Works drawings, as needed, to create final installation drawings for custom fall protection systems.

  • Completion of final design for fall protection systems including complete design of supplemental structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry structures and connections with extensive supporting calculations as necessary.

  • Provides product feedback to the Fall Arrest Team and Product Managers regarding product improvements and reported malfunctions within fall protection systems.

  • Conducts and/or assists with installation or site visits to gather field data, as required.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ year experience in structural engineering discipline.

  • PE Certification/License

  • Fall protection systems and safety and Heights application experience

  • Experience developing CAD drawings/documentation is preferred.

  • Exposure to structural design elements utilizing or modifying supplemental structural steel, reinforced concrete, timber, or masonry structures and connections is a plus.

  • Experience developing structural calculations is preferred.

  • Ability to support up to 25% travel.

  • Site assessment experience is preferred.

  • Current knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, CSA, and CE/EN regulations pertaining to fall protection is preferred.
