Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech assists physicians and nurses during surgical procedures and in preparation for surgery. Able to deliver safe, competent care. Responsible for maintaining the sterile field, being constantly vigilant that the scrubbed members of the team adhere to aseptic/sterile technique. Assembles and processes sterile instrument trays and equipment. Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the surgeon. Provides procedural circulating support. Performs instrument and equipment counts.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Greater than two years surgical technologist clinical experience.

High School Diploma/GED.

American Heart Association BLS.

Able to identify and respond to advanced clinical issues.

Preferred:

Surgical Tech Program Graduate.
