Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in coordinating and supervising patient care
Completes documentation which reflects current nursing standards, and which supports policies and procedures
Manages and operates unit equipment safely and correctly
Demonstrates knowledge of current patient safety goals and policies
Applies knowledge of infection control policies and procedures supporting standards of care
Communicates appropriately with patients, physicians, co-workers, staff and patient families
Interacts with a high level of professionalism, respect and dignity
Maintains patient confidentiality
Participates in the clinical development of self and others to provide for personal growth, unit clinical competency and unit retention
Participates in the department's continuous quality improvement activities
Committee and meeting participation: Unit staff meetings; other participation as appropriate and required
Position patients for procedures
Understanding of supplies needed for procedures
Understanding in performing Time-outs
Ability to work with pre-op, PACU, and other interdisciplinary teams as needed
Works directly with Surgeons and Anesthesia and assists as needed
Position Requirements
ADN in Nursing
Licensed RN in the State of Arizona or Compact RN License
BLS / ACLS / PALS as needed as required by Department
Ability to work effectively with computer based charting and other clinical software programs
Adaptability to change, organizational skills
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Minimum of 2 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience
Preferred Requirements
3-5 Years of Operating Room Nursing Experience
CNOR Certification
Bachelor’s in Nursing or relevant
