Summary of Responsibilities:

The Operations Planning and Analytics Intern will support the Operations Management Team in daily activities related to managing the corporate department.

This 2021 Summer Internship is for undergraduate students who have an anticipated graduation date between December 2021 and May 2022.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Operations Planning and Analytics Intern supports efforts to conduct unprecedented or complex analyses and reporting in support of general business operations, special projects/initiatives and/orstrategic/operationalplanning activities. The incumbent will support the Planning and Analytics team to consult management and business partners on matters of significance regarding strategic approaches, effectiveness of support functions, and business performance improvement opportunities. S/he is often assigned as a project support on business unit initiatives of strategic importance.

Essential Functions:

  • Defines and develops analytical approaches to unprecedented and complex issues.

  • Supports activities in determining where measurement gaps exist and devises new metrics or reports to fill those gaps.

  • Reviews operational data/metrics, analyzes and synthesizes the data, then compiles into reports or presentations.

  • Navigates the entire firm in order to effectively complete tasks.

  • Develops consultative partnerships with internal teams and leaders to understand their strategic objectives, key performance indicators and reporting requirements.

  • Communicates with internal teams and leaders to stay abreast of organization and function operations and is familiar with company practices relevant to metrics, performance indicators, reporting protocols, etc.

  • Leads special projects/initiatives that are of strategic importance for the function or business unit.

  • Acts as technical leader for any ad-hoc reporting or project needs in the function or business unit.

  • Collaborates with and supports senior leaders and their teams to ensure analytical and reporting needs are aligned, and supports business and operating results.

  • Provides guidance to less experienced staff.

  • Leads projects including assigning work and monitoring quality and completion.

  • Contributes to the achievement of function or business unit objectives.

  • Supports data-driven decision-making by team, functional or business unit leaders.

Other Functions:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Relevant Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work 12 consecutive (40 hr) weeks between May-August

  • Willingness to participate in all intern activities throughout the summer

  • Pursing Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics (Preferred), or related field (i.e. Accounting, Business Administration).

  • Self-motivated/flexible/team player.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience working in a corporate setting

  • Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills a plus

  • SQL (Preferred)

  • Analytical Tools (Preferred) - R, SAS, Python etc.

  • Visualization Tools (Preferred)

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of banking industry: products, services, operational policies, and procedures

  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

Working Conditions:

  • Shifts and/or s Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs.

  • Travel to multiple facilities maybe required.

  • May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.

  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.

  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
