The Kitchen and Bath Designer is responsible for driving Custom Countertop sales for Floor and Decor by obtaining and closing countertop sales. Additionally, the Kitchen and Bath Designer ensures customers have a positive sales experience by receiving exceptional customer service through services provided both internally and externally in relation to this program.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Two (2) years of sales, design or project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company and minimum of one (1) year of retail experience preferred

  • Knowledge of countertop installation, fabrication or kitchen remodels is a plus

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills and computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite and Excel

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Willing to work retail hours

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Essential Job Functions

  • Greets and engages every customer in a helpful and courteous manner

  • Daily solicits and closes sales via store traffic and making phone calls to follow up and convert leads generated through proprietary Quick Quote Estimate tool.

  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills. Able to consistently manage, follow up, and utilize customer countertop information to close sales and projects.

  • Responsible for understanding, utilizing, and managing Custom Countertop applications i.e.; Proprietary Orders Portal, Quick Quote Estimator, and proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler.

  • Ability to multi task and work through multiple internal and external partners to address customer questions, resolve issues and facilitate the sales process in a timely manner. Willing to partner and communicate with 3rd party vendors including fabricator, supply house and customer support.

  • Meet and exceed established goals.

  • Coordinates with Operations Team to ensure Custom Countertop orders are finalized, sales delivered and paperwork filed appropriately.

  • Train, motivate and coach associates and design teams to assist in countertop sales.

  • Coordinate product knowledge and program training for store associates with external partners.

  • Coordinate and sell adjacent categories to complete projects, e.g. Deco or Stone.

  • Partner with Design teams to incorporate countertop projects into design projects.

  • Attend conference calls and training sessions to relay information to store teams.

  • Maintain consistent communication with store leadership to support company goals and vision through weekly store meetings as determined by CEM.

  • Responsible for Custom Countertop Design Center maintenance, including customer samples, marketing materials and set changes.

  • Stay current on market trends and competition and communicate information to Managers. Conduct competition shops as needed.

Working Conditions (travel, environment)

  • Limited travel required including car travel

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
