This job was posted by https://www.azjobconnection.gov : For more information, please see: https://www.azjobconnection.gov/ada/r/jobs/4102122 A Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor provides instructions and assistance to clients in researching various career fields, qualifications and skill requirements for various jobs for which the clients are interested, and job outlook with local employers throughout the State of Arizona. This service is intended to: a) increase the client's informed choice and career decision-making abilities, enabling him/her to select a vocational goal commensurate with his or her abilities, capabilities, and interest; b) allow the client's exporsure to essential facets of the workplace and information concerning various career areas. Job responsibilities; 1. Assistance with organizing the client s career exploration process and activities to assist the client in developing effective career exploration skills. 2. Introduction and orientation to the world of work, to include the meaning, value and demands of work and other work-related requirements. 3. Development of self-assessment and exploration skills for the purpose of gaining an increased awareness and understanding of the client's abilities, interests, values, and needs. 4. Guidance in accessing resources through the available employment networks, navigating through Career One Stop Centers and their resources and/or utilizing other community resources. 5. Provision of information about various industries and occupations and assisting the client in understanding the difference between occupations, industries, and work options. 6. Identification of three (3) possible careers suitable to the client s personal factors, for which the research shall be conducted. 7. Assistance with exploring those industries and occupations for which the client expresses interest through: i. Finding and reviewing occupational trends, wages, job responsibilities, education and training requirements, job outlook and other relevant information. ii. Watching career videos. iii. Researching employers through available resources, making appointments with and conducting informational interviews with various companies, job shadowing and other applicable methods to learn more about the company, its industry, or the occupation(s) available. iv. Maximizing the client s decision-making power by comparing and contrasting specific careers/companies. v. Exploring and arranging volunteer experiences, internships, or other work-based training. vi. Monitoring progress of volunteer, internships, or other work-based experience.
