Cash Applications Supervisor
This position will be responsible for overseeing the posting of all insurance and patient payments on a daily basis. Responsibilities will include the posting and reconciliation of ERA payments, tracking and trending denials by payer, site, and physician, as well as assist in the loading of contracts into the NextGen system. They will also help in the reprocessing of claims due to denials posted while applying insurance payments. This position requires the ability to evaluate current processes, distinguish needed changes, and recommend or implement appropriate modifications.
Supervise payment posters and evaluate talent level and train/re-educate where necessary.
Grow the department to manage the increased workload when the company adds new clinics and new states.
Develop procedures to track trends in payments, short pays, and denials to present results in a format where action plans can be created to
Organize and track refund requests for patient and insurance companies.
Develop procedures and guidelines for payment posting to streamline operations.
Assist in the loading and maintenance of contracts in the NextGen system.
Work with the credentialing department on provider and facility credentialing issues as it affects claim payments, denials, and short pays.
Assist with claim resubmission projects when necessary.
Treats patients and co-workers consistent with the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Performance Standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned or described in Company policy.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have minimum of five years medical payment and adjustment posting experience.
Must have a minimum of two years supervision experience in the healthcare field.
Must have experience with Managed Care contracts, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL.
Medical collections experience is required.
Must have proven track record of tracking and trending variances in payments and making the necessary system or payer corrections.
