POSITION SUMMARY: Perform cyclic maintenance and repair to historic structures related to Historic Preservation Maintenance program at Grand Canyon-South Rim. Responsibilities Assist the HPM Supervisor with planning, scheduling and implementing the workload and materials for the repair and cyclic maintenance of various historic structures within Grand Canyon National Park Lodges, ensuring that all ESA, NHPA and NEPA 106 regulations and historic programmatic requirements are followed, along with documentation of all work performed. Produce and maintain professional quality work at all times, within the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Perform work in Carpentry, Masonry, Painting, Metalwork, Logsmithing, Stucco Repairs, Roofing, Windows, and other historic preservation work as needed. Assist in scheduling of construction tasks and ensures the timely arrival of materials and equipment. Assist the HPM Supervisor with the care, maintenance and security of all assigned equipment and tools. Assist the HPM Supervisor in maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all current company programs, building codes and regulations related to health and safety. Always sets the example for health and safety. Assist the HPM Supervisor in the responsibility of storage, accountability, and proper disposal of building materials. Responsible for coordination of tasks with Location Management and the Maintenance Managers in the absence of the HPM Supervisor. Comply with all company and NPS sustainability policies and procedures. Commit to and practice the Company’s Environmental Policies and Procedures. Be available for after hours on call duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum four years experience in Historic Preservation work, with knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated skill in producing and maintaining professional quality preservation work. Basic Knowledge of uniform building codes pertinent to Historic Preservation. Ability to read blue prints. Knowledge of the historic aspects of Grand Canyon National Park facilities and the specific preservation techniques utilized in the preservation of these assets. OSHA Competent, with ability to identify existing and predictable hazards with scaffolding, fall protection, lead, and asbestos or be able to achieve this designation. Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days of start date and comply with the Company Driver Safety Program.
