U-Haul Welder (NOW HIRING) in Glendale, Arizona

This position is 40 hours a week with the possibility of going permanent Full Time

Welder Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform all-position MIG welding to join steel and aluminum metals from 1/16”- to 1”-thick plate

  • Interpret and carry out work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions

  • Properly clamp parts into jigs or holding fixtures

  • Clean burrs, spatter, and weld flux from assemblies

  • Hand count material for inventory purposes

  • Follow all safety practices during assembly/production and wear proper protective equipment at all times

  • Clean and organize workstation

We have multiple shifts!! Hours (subject to change according to needs of ongoing projects):

  • 3rd Shift 9 pm - 5 am

Welder Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successfully complete plant-administered welding test

  • Pass print reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude

  • Operate a cutting torch and various hand tools

  • Able to responsibly handle confidential information

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
