Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Staff Engineer Supplier Quality to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will support and require travel to supplier sites in Glendale, AZ, Chandler, AZ, Mesa, AZ, Luke AFB, AZ, Tucson, AZ, or Phoenix, AZ.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Supplier Quality risk management.
Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process.
Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.
Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.

Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) related field plus fourteen years of related engineering experience; Master of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) related field plus twelve years of related engineering experience or four years of experience with PHD
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years
OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Candidate must have the ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Experience working in a manufacturing lab with microelectronics assembly or inspection
Familiarity with component level structures in microelectronic assembly and/or inspection (i.e how IMA's complex circuit boards and hybrids work)
Knowledge of one or more of the following: MILSTD883, JSTD, IPC inspection, and assembly criteria
Experience in assembly, test, OR inspection of gimbals and CMG's(control moment gyroscope's)
Aerospace and defense experience
Solder and PCB electrical manufacturing experience
Space Mechanical Hardware experience
Mission Assurance and Quality Background
Knows how to lead or facilitate RCCA meetings and perform fishbone and 5why diagrams
MS office knowledge
