Job Description

The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) organization, that provides foundational technology platforms and services to enable innovation throughout GM IT, is pursuing Product Managers to realize their vision of transforming the organization to become completely IT business partner focused. The role as an Enterprise Product Manager will be responsible and accountable for bringing industry leading Product Lifecycle Management best practices to define and manage a product family strategy for GM IT. Implementing Product Lifecycle concepts involves working with business partners and platform management teams to define & manage a multi-year investment plan. This role will influence setting direction at an organizational level across multiple technologies or domains. This role also requires the ability to partner with global teams through formal and informal relationships to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Rationalize the overall structure of a product family with regard to product lines and products to ensure efficient grouping of technologies and services in order to provide business partner-centric innovation and purposeful investment decision-making.

+ Identify of high value/impact product(s) within a product family by applying product management principles including management of business-partner requests, delivery portfolio planning, and development/maintenance of a comprehensive product master plan comprised of vision & roadmap, marketing plan, performance metrics, and financial insights.

+ Lead executive-level reviews with the ETS Product Review Board to ensure that the product family structure continues to maintain business partner focus with an evolving technology portfolio. Ensure products are consistently meeting business partner needs by demonstrating customer satisfaction, highlighting overall product performance with strategies to address gaps, while making the business case to secure resource investment for ongoing innovation, service delivery, and support.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers/owners, and enterprise technology architects (ETAs) across the organization to achieve the vision and goals for products in a family.

+ Provide oversight and guidance for lower impact products within a family being managed by product owners using an abbreviated product master plan as well as product review in line with overall product family strategy.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant Technical Degree

+ Robust knowledge of general IT concepts including Product Lifecycle Management

+ 10+ years of experience working on a Product team, 5+ years as Product Manager

+ Experience with system design principles to include reliability, availability, and scalability

+ Extensive knowledge of how to leverage available resources to solve problems and deliver solutions

+ Strong communication skills

+ Detail Oriented
